House GOP lawmakers are scrutinizing how the AARP's interests may have played into the positions the organization took during the health debate.
Life Technologies Corporation today announced results for its second quarter ending June 30, 2010. Non-GAAP revenue for the second quarter was $906 million, an increase of 8 percent over the $839 million reported for the second quarter of 2009. Excluding the impact of currency and prior acquisitions and divestitures, organic revenue for the quarter grew 6 percent over the same period in the previous year.
The severity of injury and level of impairment - not the workers' legal fees - have the most effect on payout for workers' compensation claims among Illinois construction workers, researchers at the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health have found.
Lower transplant rates in ethnic communities may be explained somewhat by a lack of suitable anonymous donors, a problem the medical community has long known and been working to address. Surprisingly, the study found the discrepancy in treatment held true even when the transplant was autologous (e.g. self-donated stem cells were used) or when the cells were donated by a relative, typically a sibling.
