Scientists investigating the effects of cannabis on bone health have found that its impact varies dramatically with age.
Medicis today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved additional strengths of SOLODYN (minocycline HCl, USP) Extended Release Tablets in 55 mg, 80 mg and 105 mg dosages for the treatment of inflammatory lesions of non-nodular moderate to severe acne vulgaris in patients 12 years of age and older.
A catheter-mounted device that acts like a clothespin to clip together the flaps of a leaky heart valve is not only reducing the abnormal backflow of blood from the left ventricle to the left atrium, it is helping to shrink the enlarged, overworked heart and relieving symptoms of fluid overload - all without open-chest surgery.
More than six million people in the U.S. suffer from persistent wounds - open sores that never seem to heal or, once apparently healed, return with a vengeance. The bedridden elderly and infirm are prone to painful and dangerous pressure ulcers, and diabetics are susceptible to wounds caused by a lack of blood flow to the extremities.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today approved Inlyta (axitinib) to treat patients with advanced kidney cancer (renal cell carcinoma) who have not responded to another drug for this type of cancer.
