In May, 2009, the 81st Legislature appropriated $450 million dollars in bond proceeds for the next two years for CPRIT to fund cancer research and prevention grants that will expedite innovation in cancer treatment and expand cancer prevention services in the state.
The results of a study presented today at the European League Against Rheumatism Annual Congress showed that prolonged repetitive physical workload increases the risk of developing rheumatoid arthritis (RA).
Sheree Schrager, PhD, MS, an investigator at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, and fellow investigator, Jeremy Goldbach, PhD, of the USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work, have been awarded $3.7 million by the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities of the NIH to study the behavioral health risks of sexual minority adolescents -those who identify as lesbian, gay or bisexual.
