According to new study by Australian researchers men are better at saving money for their retirement - but often have no idea how to spend it.
As part of a unique survey of nearly 2,000 women of childbearing age who receive health care at the nation's community health centers, 90 percent reported that they were not actively seeking to become pregnant in the next 12 months. Yet more than 3 out of 10 were not using contraceptives at the time of the survey.
Researchers from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) plan to tackle underlying problems in Australia's health system which harm in one in ten hospital patients each year.
"South Africa faces significant challenges when it comes to sexual health, and with the high prevalence of rape, teen pregnancy, and sexually transmitted diseases and infections, schools need to implement strong and informative programs on sexuality and contraceptive use," Jos Dirkx, founder of Girls & Football SA, writes in this post in the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's "Impatient Optimists" blog.
Researchers from the University of Copenhagen have developed an algorithm that can identify patients who may have been wrongly diagnosed.
