A team of researchers at Imperial College London have developed inflatable stockings to give relief to elderly people with mobility problems.
PolyMedix, Inc, an emerging biotechnology company focused on developing new therapeutic drugs to treat life-threatening infectious diseases and acute cardiovascular disorders, announced that data from two Phase 1B/2 clinical studies with PMX-60056 were presented today, in oral and poster sessions, at the Annual American Heart Association Scientific Sessions Meeting. PMX-60056 is a synthetic, small-molecule designed to reverse the anti-clotting effects of both heparin and low molecule weight heparin (LMWH).
Even people who show a clear treatment response with antidepressant medications continue to experience symptoms like insomnia, sadness and decreased concentration, researchers at UT Southwestern Medical Center have found after analyzing data from the largest study on the treatment of depression.
Researchers at Johns Hopkins say they have evidence that more than one-third of young women are willing and able to use a free, easily available home test kit to privately and accurately learn if they are infected with Chlamydia trachomatis, the most common sexually transmitted disease (STD) in this group.
