The issue of unsafe abortion and its role in women's health was the focus of a four-day conference this week in Accra, Ghana, involving health experts, policymakers and health workers from across Africa, Ghana News Agency reports.
For adult patients with brainstem high-grade gliomas - one of the rarest and deadliest forms of brain cancer - surgically removing the entire tumor may add many months or potentially years of survival beyond that offered by radiation and chemotherapy, according to results of a medical records study led by researchers at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center.
The earlier that patients who suffer from atrial fibrillation obtain the correct treatment, the lower is the risk of serious secondary effects such as stroke. A thesis presented at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, shows that a well-established measurement score can easily assess the risks for this patient group.
Repligen Corporation announced today that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the European Medicines Agency (EMA) have approved the Company's proposal to re-analyze the images from our Phase 3 study to establish the utility of RG1068, synthetic human secretin, in improving magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the pancreas (Phase 3 re-read).
