A new study conducted by researchers from the University of Verona and the Institute G. Gaslini in Genova, Italy, confirms the pivotal role played by Cytomegalovirus infection in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis.
New research findings from the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing show that patient and nurse outcomes in Kaiser Permanente hospitals were significantly better compared to other hospitals. Differences in nursing explained a significant proportion of the Kaiser Permanente outcomes advantage for patients.

In a first, a nine year old girl received tissue donated by her 18-month old brother Max who was created specifically so that he could aid her medical treatment – a procedure termed as "savior sibling". This is the first time that the procedure has been under the supervision of British researchers from IVF onwards.
