Many patients living with HIV in rural Africa are not receiving regular treatment, despite recent efforts to increase access to health care across the continent.
An innovative treatment for HIV patients developed by McGill University Health Centre researchers has passed its first clinical trial with flying colours. The new approach is an immunotherapy customized for each individual patient, and was developed by Dr. J-P. Routy from the Research Institute of the MUHC in collaboration with Dr. R. S-kaly from the Universit- de Montr-al.
Patients with locally advanced laryngopharyngeal cancers who receive radical chemoradiation have significantly better voice outcomes during the 12 months following treatment when compared with patients who have undergone a total laryngectomy and surgical voice restoration, according to a study in the February 1 issue of the International Journal for Radiation Oncology-Biology-Physics, the official journal of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology.
University of Miami researchers have shown that drinking enough water can halve the risk of developing a UTI in pre-menopausal women.
Bayer today unveiled version 2.5 of its Radimetrics Enterprise Platform at the 2014 Radiological Society of North America Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting. The enhanced version has new features that can help radiologists and hospital administrators meet new 2015 U.S. Joint Commission Diagnostic Imaging Standards, providing information to help optimize radiation dose management and contrast dose analytics to advance image quality and patient care.
