In a first-of-its-kind gathering at the New York Academy of Sciences, researchers from some of the world's leading universities and institutions convened to discuss the various applications of bioelectronic medicine, the cutting-edge field that uses technology to treat disease and injury.
Competitive Technologies, Inc. announced today that Commonwealth Pain Specialists, the premier pain management center in Richmond and Central Virginia, is treating patients suffering from chronic, intense neuropathic pain using CTT's Calmare® Pain Therapy medical device.
A research study led by the Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Exeter, and Boston University School of Medicine, in collaboration with a global consortium, has identified genetic markers that influence a protein involved in regulating oestrogen and testosterone levels in the bloodstream.
Mindray Medical International Limited (NYSE: MR), a leading developer, manufacturer and marketer of medical devices worldwide, today announced the introduction of a significant new upgrade for the company's popular M5 ultrasound system at the 95th Annual Meeting of the Radiology Society of North America being held in Chicago, November 29 - December 4, 2009. The upgrade includes automatic presets for each new exam and the addition of another state-of-the-art transducer.
Now, armed with a deeper understanding of full facial contouring, dermatologists are using soft-tissue fillers to enhance and restore volume loss in the cheek area, thereby smoothing nasolabial folds (the wrinkles that form along the bottom of the nose to the corners of the mouth). In addition, newly introduced fractional radiofrequency technology to address skin laxity is showing promise by stimulating collagen contraction and reducing loose skin in the lower-face.
