A team of researchers at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine have been awarded $3.4 million by the National Institutes of Health to study the role of the gastrointestinal lymphatic system in dietary nutrient absorption and the transport of signaling molecules.
A new study reports that individuals who underwent embolization of the left gastric artery for gastrointestinal bleeding experienced a 7.9 percent decrease in body weight three months after the procedure.
Targeted for use in emergencies, GEO-PICTURES will save lives and mitigate disaster effects on environment. Earlier this year Brown University researchers found that these "retrotransposable elements" were increasingly able to break free of the genome's control in cultures of human cells.
