Wound Management Technologies, Inc. announced today that its new international distributor, Spiramed (Pty) Ltd, exhibited its advanced wound care collagen product, CellerateRX® last weekend at the DFWG (Diabetic Foot Working Group) congress in Cape Town and has already planned exhibitions at two additional upcoming conferences. This second meeting of the DFWG congress was attended by over 120 diabetic foot specialists.
In a finding that could significantly influence the way type 1 diabetes is treated, researchers at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University have developed a technique for transplanting insulin-producing pancreatic cells that causes only a minimal immune response in recipients.

Compact, bedside brain-activity monitors detected most seizures in at-risk infants, researchers at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis showed. That means the compact units could assist clinicians in monitoring for electrical seizures until confirmation with conventional EEG (electroencephalography), the researchers assert in an article published in the June issue of Pediatrics.
