Thermal Energy Corp. (TECO) in Houston announced today that it will receive $10 million in federal stimulus funding for its new combined heat and power project at the Texas Medical Center, where TECO provides district heating and cooling service to 18 institutions.
Purdue University researchers have found a method of identifying biological markers in small amounts of blood that they believe could be used to detect a myriad of diseases, infections and different medical conditions at early stages.
The plan would repeal the contentious SGR formula for reimbursing doctors, but does not include a way to pay for that. Also in the House, a Democrat and a Republican introduce a bill to create national exercise guidelines.
