The General Medical Council, Britain's regulatory body for doctors, is right to appeal against a high court ruling that its current guidance on withholding and withdrawing life prolonging treatment is unlawful, says a professor of medical ethics in this week's BMJ.
Santarus, Inc. and Depomed, Inc. today announced that they have entered into a settlement agreement with Lupin Ltd. and its subsidiary, Lupin Pharmaceuticals, Inc., to resolve pending patent litigation involving GLUMETZA 1000 mg and 500 mg.
With more than 2,700 children having elevated blood lead levels in 2009, the Department of Health today reminds parents to test young children for lead exposure, especially during National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week, Oct. 24-30.
Coinciding with Stomach Cancer Awareness Month in November, the UC Santa Cruz Genomics Institute is teaming up with the patient advocacy nonprofit No Stomach For Cancer to release a web portal designed to help researchers identify individuals at risk of heritable stomach cancers.
Randomized, phase III research from the University of Alabama at Birmingham shows that a new drug improves symptoms related to moderate to severe plaque psoriasis, a chronic skin disease of scaling and inflammation.
