Apexigen, Inc. announced today that it has entered into a collaboration and worldwide license agreement with Centocor Research & Development, Inc. and its affiliates to utilize Apexigen's proprietary therapeutic antibody technologies to discover and develop monoclonal antibody drugs. Apexigen will generate and screen antibodies to several targets specified by Centocor R&D, which will be responsible for development and commercialization of all products resulting from the collaboration.
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) announced a new application process for its major block grant programs - the Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant and the Community Mental Health Services Block Grant. The change is designed to provide states greater flexibility to allocate resources for substance abuse and mental illness prevention, treatment and recovery services in their communities.
The research team, directed by Joseph Gleeson, M.D., Director of the Neurogenetics Laboratory at the UCSD School of Medicine and associate professor in the Department of Neurosciences, have identified a new gene that, when mutated, leads to JSRD. Their findings will be published on-line in advance of publication in the journal Nature Genetics.
