African-American and Hispanic men in the United States are less likely to receive therapy for prostate cancer compared to Caucasian men — even when they have more aggressive disease, according to new research from Roswell Park Cancer Institute and Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Enroll America, which is a group of health care organizations and companies, is making a health coverage push to boost the new health law.
Mesenchymal stromal cells from fat tissue and bone marrow are widely used in therapeutic trials for their anti-inflammatory qualities, but new Mayo Clinic research finds that liver cells may be of greater value.
US researchers have shown that patients with both chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma have more exacerbations, less emphysema and more airway disease than patients with COPD alone.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, tobacco use continues to be the leading preventable cause of death in the U.S. resulting in more than 440,000 premature deaths a year. An additional 25 million smokers will most likely die of a smoking related illness.
