Researchers at the Krembil Neuroscience Centre have potentially discovered a major cause of dementia. In this type of dementia, there is damage to the white matter (nerve fibres) of the brain apparent on computerized tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans of older individuals.
New findings presented at Europe's leading breast cancer translational research conference this year shed new light on the many biological differences between individual breast cancers.
A study performed on the NASA Space Shuttle Discovery showed that exposure of mouse embryonic stem cells (mESCs) to microgravity inhibited their ability to differentiate and generate most cell lineages, needed for the development of bone, muscle, the immune system, and other organs and tissues.
With the objective of offering efficient, fast healthcare service with a social focus and at rates everyone can afford, in 2003 the non-profit organization Salud Digna was founded, whose operations became the center of a case study by the School of Business at Harvard University.
