Researchers, led by scientists at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, have found basic molecular processes used by the Zika virus to "hijack" the cells that it infects and potentially how it makes molecules that are directly linked to disease.
An unexpected twist to a discovery reported just two months ago may significantly improve our understanding about the molecular origins of diabetes.
The package of new measures announced today includes plans to extend the National Cycle Network, which provides safer cycling routes, to hundreds of schools. The Department for Transport (DFT) will invest £500,000 in upgrading cycle provision at 200 rail stations.
