We are all facing restrictions in a bid to minimize the transmission rate and impact of COVID-19, but there is no denying that life in lockdown is hard.
Experts estimate more than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's dementia. But a recent study, led by the University of Cincinnati, sheds new light on the disease and a highly debated new drug therapy.
University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine professor and researcher Alan Solomon, M.D., director of the Human Immunology and Cancer/Alzheimer's Disease and Amyloid-Related Disorders Research Program, led a team that discovered a link between foie gras prepared from goose or duck liver and the type of amyloid found in rheumatoid arthritis or tuberculosis.
Initial research out of Florida State University investigated whether daily consumption of a freeze-dried blueberry powder supplement resulted in a reduction of blood pressure and arterial stiffness, a measure of cardiovascular disease risk, in postmenopausal women with pre- and stage 1-hypertension.
TWI Foods Inc. is voluntarily recalling several varieties of Crispy brand cookies and rusk. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) along with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and TWI Foods Inc., are warning people with allergies to milk or almonds not to consume Crispy brand cookie and rusk products. The affected products contain almonds and/or milk which are not clearly declared on the label.
