Researchers and the general public have a new resource for information on the health and intimate relationships of older people, thanks to a newsupplemental issue of The Journals of Gerontology Series B: Psychological and Social Sciences (Volume 64B, Supplement 1).
Microfluidic Systems, a privately-held company, announced today that they received an award from Inc. Magazine. The Fourth Annual Exclusive List of America's Fastest-Growing Private Companies—the Inc. 5000 ranked Microfluidic Systems number 3035 with a growth rate of 68%. The list represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy—America's independent-minded entrepreneurs.
Although the fact that we generate new brain cells throughout life is no longer disputed, their purpose has been the topic of much debate. Now, an international collaboration of researchers made a big leap forward in understanding what all these newborn neurons might actually do. Their study, published in the July 10, 2009, issue of the journal Science, illustrates how these young cells improve our ability to navigate our environment.
Elementary and middle school students who are given at least 25 minutes to eat lunch are more likely to choose fruits and consume more of their entrees, milk, and vegetables according to a new study released in the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
