More accurate disease classification now means some young children with neuroblastoma will have less intensive treatment with better survival, according to research published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology.
A meta-analysis published in JAMA confirms that stroke patients can achieve better functional outcomes after mechanical thrombectomy than after intravenous tissue plasminogen activator alone.
Being a man, having a lower income, having a lower level of education, not being married, and being born abroad in low- or middle-income countries - these are factors that, independent of one another, are related to an elevated risk of dying from COVID-19 in Sweden.
The researchers, from NYU's Department of Psychology and Center for Neural Science, found that attending to, or selectively processing information from a given location without directing our eyes to that location, enhances performance in visual tasks as well as the neural activity underlying the processing of ensuing images. The results are published in the latest issue of the journal Neuron.
Prior neuroimaging studies have shown alcoholism-related damage to the frontal lobes and cerebellum.
