An article published in the March 2010 issue of The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery reveals that the majority of all shoulder dislocations occur during sports activities and young males are at a higher risk. The study also shows a high rate of shoulder dislocation in elderly women.
Volume 11, Issue 26 of Oncotarget reported that in this study the authors studied the differences in mi RNA expression between sporadic and FAP-associated Desmoid tumors using microarray confirmed by quantitative PCR.
Regardless of traumatic events experienced during deployment, returning National Guard soldiers were more likely to develop a drinking problem if faced with civilian life setbacks, including job loss, legal problems, divorce, and serious financial and legal problems-all commonplace in military families.
Responding to an opinion piece published in Nature Medicine last week in which Tikki Pang, a visiting professor at the National University of Singapore and former director of research policy and cooperation at the WHO, and Laurie Garrett, a senior fellow for global health at the Council on Foreign Relations, argue the case for reforming and improving the WHO, KPLU's Tom Paulson writes in a post on KPLU 88.5's "Humanosphere" blog.
Lung cancer is the second most common type of cancer and leading cause of cancer death in men and women, with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) accounting for up to 90% of cases. Somatic mutations heavily impact the sensitivity of NSCLC patients to various drug treatments, and are critical for choosing the most effective targeted therapies for this cancer.
