SUNY Downstate Medical Center will receive up to $50,000 from the statewide SUNY Technology Accelerator Fund to advance a blood test to determine breast cancer prognosis.

In Australia, the number of cases has climbed to 4,093, with 16 fatalities.
Following an audit last year by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria that found Papua New Guinea's National Department of Health (NDOH) "had not complied with grant guidelines and some $7 million had been misdirected," the government is stepping down as the principal recipient (PR) of Global Fund grants in order to "improve its response," IRIN reports.
Transgenomic, Inc. (OTCBB: TBIO), a global biotechnology company advancing personalized medicine in cardiology, oncology, and inherited diseases through diagnostic tests as well as clinical and research services, and Horizon Discovery Ltd. (Horizon), a leading provider of research tools to support translational genomics and the development of personalized medicines, today announced they have entered into a collaboration agreement to develop improved genetic diagnostic tests incorporating state of the art controls.
