The new American College of Radiology Champions of Imaging 3.0 contest allows practices to highlight their use of Imaging 3.0 case studies to spark homegrown innovations or import innovative approaches into their practices. The goal of the competition is to help:
People diagnosed with myotonic dystrophy type 1 have difficulty unclenching muscles due to a genetic defect that generates toxic material within their cells.
Learning disabilities such as dyslexia are believed to affect nearly one in 10 children. To better study them, a Northwestern University research team has developed a data-driven conceptual framework that links two well-established scientific concepts. In doing so, they also have developed a non-invasive diagnostic tool called BioMAP that can quickly identify children with learning disabilities.
At birth, your body was 100-percent human in terms of cells. At death, about 10-percent of the cells in your body will be human and the remaining 90-percent will be microorganisms. That makes you a "supraorganism," and it is the interactions between your human and microbial cells that go a long way towards determining your health and physical well-being, especially your resistance to infectious diseases.
More than 40 groups have joined together to oppose the Senate healthcare bill, and will hold an online "Virtual Vigil" starting at 9 pm tonight and wrapping after the Senate votes around 1 am.
