High-level Meeting on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) is an assignment for the WHO "to lead the global response to NCDs, develop a monitoring and evaluation framework, provide technical assistance and track progress towards global targets."
The way in which heart and lung transplant recipients acquired a specific species of bacteria, Mycoplasma hominis, had been previously undefined, and the bacterium was difficult to test.
Governor Phil Bredesen signed resolution #794 designating MERI as a Simulation Center of Excellence in the State of Tennessee. The resolution was introduced by Senator Mark Norris and signed on April 30, 2010.
