An elbow can help determine the sex of a skeleton. In an effort to help identify skeletal remains of Thai descent, researchers from Boston University School of Medicine have found that examining the distal humerus (elbow) bone is superior to previous techniques that were developed for identifying sex in a non-Asian population.
AIDS Healthcare Foundation, the leading global organization providing HIV/AIDS treatment, testing, and advocacy in 28 countries worldwide, will have an important presence at the 2013 World Out Games in Antwerp: at a tent manned by specialized counselors and a doctor, the Foundation's European team will be providing free, confidential HIV testing utilizing INSTI rapid test kits, which provide accurate results in just 60 seconds.
Until today, the proteins known as ubiquitin receptors have been associated mainly with protein degradation, a basic cell cleaning process. A new function now described for the protein dDsk2 by the team headed by Ferran Azorín, group leader at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona) and CSIC research professor, links ubiquitin receptors for the first time with the regulation of gene expression.
