For the first time, patient groups, supported by funding from BioMarin, from six countries in Europe have come together with the shared goal of improving health services for people living with the rare condition PKU as part of the Live Unlimited PKU campaign.
A new degree designed to equip doctors and scientists with the expertise needed to investigate deaths resulting from acts of genocide, terrorism, natural disasters such as Tsunami, transport accidents and drug abuse will be launched this week at an international Forensic Science conference in Hong Kong.
Roche announced today that the United States Food & Drug Administration (FDA) approved an additional intended use for its licensed nucleic acid test, to screen source plasma in pools comprised of up to 96 individual donations. The test, called the cobas® TaqScreen MPX Test for use on the cobas s 201 system, is a qualitative, in-vitro test for the simultaneous, direct detection of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1 Group M RNA, HIV-1 Group O RNA , HIV-2 RNA), hepatitis C virus RNA and hepatitis B virus DNA in human plasma.
Brandon Dell'Orto listened to the comments and complaints as the school board meeting dragged on hour after hour. Many parents were angry.
Today as they did 100 years ago, doctors diagnose cancer by taking tissue samples from patients, which they usually fix in formalin for microscopic examination.
