A University of California, San Diego research team led by bioengineer Gert Cauwenberghs is working to understand how the brain circuitry controls how we move. The goal is to develop new technologies to help patients with Parkinson's disease and other debilitating medical conditions navigate the world on their own.
In an effort to improve the sensitivity and sample recovery of mask sampling, researchers developed a mask sampling tool to assess bioaerosol variation.
GlaxoSmithKline has announced the submission of a regulatory file to European Medicines Agency (EMEA) under Article 58 for the combination vaccine candidate Globorix (diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, hepatitis B, Haemophilus influenzae type b, Neisseria meningitides serogroups A and C).
"Supporters of the International Violence Against Women Act (I-VAWA) are ramping up their lobbying efforts as Congress prepares to bring the measure to a vote," The Hill reports. More than a dozen organizations and advocacy groups have written a letter requesting the support of Sen. George Voinovich, R-Ohio. The bill currently has two Republican sponsors in the senate and "advocates say his support will be vital to obtaining the desired amount of funding from Congress: up to $1.3 billion over five years," the newspaper writes.
A Scottish woman whose breast was removed after she was wrongly diagnosed with cancer, plans to sue the Scottish National Health Service for the blunder.
