Researchers at the University of South Australia have made a major discovery using a natural compound in snake venom that shows very promising anti-cancer effects. The compound works by activating the destruction of cells which make up the blood vessels that supply nutrients to tumours, according to Associate Professor Tony Woods from UniSA's School of Pharmaceutical, Molecular and Biomedical Sciences.
Politico Pro reports that, although this case is unlikely to be the "one" that goes to the Supreme Court, both sides have a lot at stake in the outcome: "the potential to chalk up another appeals court victory and maybe 'flip' a prominent appeals judge."
Clinipace Worldwide, a global digital clinical research organization (dCRO), announced today that Spectranetics Corporation, a developer, manufacturer, marketer and distributer of single-use medical devices used in minimally invasive procedures within the cardiovascular system, has selected Clinipace to manage all aspects of a pivotal cardiovascular device clinical study that will serve as the basis for 510(k) notice submission.
It is well known that drinking during pregnancy can lead to fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS) in the offspring. Unfortunately, not all pregnant women are truthful about their levels of drinking.
