This new multi-purpose pharmaceutical development and cGMP manufacturing facility is located in Fengxian in the suburbs of Shanghai, China.
A team of scientists from the University of Oxford, U.K. have taken lessons from Adam Smith and Charles Darwin to devise a new strategy that could one day slow, possibly even prevent, the spread of drug-resistant bacteria. In a new research report published in the March 2011 issue of GENETICS, the scientists show that bacterial gene mutations that lead to drug resistance come at a biological cost not borne by nonresistant strains.
Today, the International and American Associations for Dental Research published a paper titled "Global Burden of Oral Conditions in 1990-2010: A Systemic Analysis." The paper, written by lead author Wagner Marcenes, Queen Mary University, London, is published in the IADR/AADR Journal of Dental Research.
Providing important leadership in Africa for reducing tobacco use and its deadly consequences, the Kenyan Parliament has passed the national Tobacco Control Act, which bans tobacco advertising, promotion and sponsorship, increases cigarette taxes and takes other strong steps to reduce tobacco use.
