Obese and overweight men who are diagnosed with prostate cancer by biopsy are more likely than healthy weight men to actually have a more aggressive case of the disease than the biopsy results would indicate, according to a study led by a Duke University Medical Center researcher.
The UPV/EHU's Qualiker research group has proposed a combination of variables never proposed before to study the psychological well-being of adolescent students.
For the more than 50 million Americans who experience the phantom sounds of tinnitus - ringing in the ears that can range from annoying to debilitating - certain well-trained rats may be their best hope for finding relief.
Women are 30 percent less likely to die of ovarian cancer if they have guideline-recommended treatment, yet nearly two-thirds of those with the disease do not receive it, often because they are cared for at hospitals that treat a small number of ovarian cancer patients.
