PROLOR Biotech, Inc., today noted the positive opinion by the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) of the European Medicines Agency for marketing approval in Europe for ELONVA(R), a long-acting CTP-modified version of the fertility hormone FSH from Merck & Co. Merck and PROLOR are both licensees of the CTP technology from Washington University in St. Louis.
As smokers consider quitting on the Great American Smokeout - Thursday, November 19th - many are frustrated that over-the-counter nicotine patches, gum, and lozenges have not worked for them. Even President Obama admits he still smokes despite using nicotine gum.
That is one of the key findings from research conducted by researchers with the Harvard School of Public Health College Alcohol Study (CAS), a landmark study that surveyed more than 50,000 students at 120 colleges from 1993 to 2001.
"A new survey of European Union [E.U.] residents reveals that even an economic crisis doesn't dampen Europeans' support for aid," Amie Newman, a communications officer and editor for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's "Impatient Optimists" blog.
A new study conducted by the American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR) and the World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) found that the daily intake of grains, such as those from whole-wheat bread or brown rice reduces the risk of colorectal cancer; the risk is expected to decrease with the increase in the amount of gains consumed.
