Most of the benefits of a specialised early intervention for psychosis have disappeared by 8 years after its completion, shows follow-up of the OPUS trial.
It's called the Silver Tsunami - the increased incidence of cancer with aging, combined with the rapidly aging population means that the Australian health system needs to prepare for an onslaught of cancer diagnoses.

However, researchers at the Max Planck Institute for Infection Biology, Berlin, together with colleagues at Harvard University, reveal an opposite strategy used to ensure infection success. Pathogens can actually delay their entry into cells to ensure their survival.
Results of the EORTC10085/TBCRC/BIG/NABCG International Male Breast Cancer Program conducted in both Europe and in the United States and presented at the 2014 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium found significant improvement in survival for men with breast cancer, but this improvement was not as good as that observed for women.
