A new way of testing the safety of natural and synthetic chemicals has been developed by scientists with funding from the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC). Their research, published today in the journal Ecotoxicology, could reduce the number of fish needed to test the toxicity of a range of chemicals including pharmaceuticals and environmental pollutants.
Hundreds of environmental health professionals across the nation report challenges and research needs in six areas -; drinking water quality, wastewater management, healthy homes, food safety, public health pests and emerging issues such as disaster risk reduction and new facility types for body art and cannabis-infused products -; in research from Baylor University and partners.
A new survey from Health Union of more than 2,200 people with chronic health conditions and their caregivers illustrates how patients use online health information to better understand their health condition, learn about symptoms and treatment, and share experiences with other patients living with the same health condition.
Ascension Health, the nation's largest Catholic and non-profit health system, signed a long-term agreement to deploy MedAssets' suite of charge integrity solutions and consulting services to drive best practices and standardize the management of its charge and acquisition cost data at more than 65 of its acute care locations.
