With more than 17 programs in psychology and behavioral and health sciences already established, The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (TCSPP)—one of the leading nonprofit institutions of its kind- is offering for the first time in its history a Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) Program beginning spring 2014 online and fall 2014 in Los Angeles.
Previous research has shown that cannabinoids can help lessen side effects of anti-cancer therapies. Now a new British Journal of Pharmacology review has examined their potential for the direct treatment of cancer.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today warned that the drug Lamictal (lamotrigine), approved to treat seizures and bipolar disorder, can cause aseptic meningitis, an inflammation of the protective membranes (meninges) that cover the brain and spinal cord not caused by bacterial infection.The agency is working with the drug's manufacturer, GlaxoSmithKline, to update the prescribing information and patient medication guide to include this risk.
Johns Hopkins researchers report success with a smart phone video-based app that substitutes for a daily in-person visit by a health care worker required for tuberculosis treatment known as directly observed therapy, or DOT.
