Attagene Inc., a leader in developing innovative technologies for analyzing gene regulatory pathways, announced today the online publication of a paper in Chemical Research in Toxicology, a journal of the American Chemical Society, that highlights results of their collaborative work with the Environmental Protection Agency's National Center for Computational Toxicology (NCCT).
In lab experiments, the researchers have found that this device, a vector, is able to deliver DNA deeply enough into a cell to allow genetic material to be activated - a critical step in gene therapy. This vector is between 2 - and 10 times more effective than other experimental materials, according to the research.
The CDC is investigating a series of cases of mysterious, severe lung disease. The cause is not known, but every patient uses an e-cigarette.
