Poor physical fitness in middle age may be linked to a smaller brain size 20 years later, according to a study published in the February 10, 2016, online issue of Neurology®, the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology.
In the first study to examine living nerve cells from patients with psychiatric disease, scientists from the Monell Chemical Senses Center, the University of Pennsylvania, and collaborating institutions report altered nerve cell function in olfactory receptor neurons from patients with bipolar disorder.
The Washington State Hospital Association today received the 2010 John M. Eisenberg Patient Safety and Quality Award for work advancing the collaboration of hospitals around patient safety. This is one of the highest honors an organization can receive for patient safety and quality.
St. Jude Medical, Inc., a global medical device company, today issued the following statement in connection with a settlement agreement reached with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) regarding a previously disclosed July 2007 investigation in Ohio related to certain rebates:
