An international research team believe they have discovered why the immune system is unable to control HIV infection.
Globally, less than two thirds of children living with HIV who are taking treatment are 'virally suppressed', according to new research from UNSW Sydney's Kirby Institute and the global IeDEA consortium, published today in The Lancet HIV.
Researchers from Johns Hopkins have quantified the number of possible decisions that an individual cell can make after receiving a cue from its environment, and surprisingly, it's only two.
A team have established a soft, flexible neural implant that can mold to the brain's contours without damaging the tissue.
The potential effects of climate change on the spread of infectious diseases, such as malaria and dengue fever, are the focus of a nearly $1.9 million grant from the National Science Foundation intended to further the studies of a Penn State-led group of researchers.
