Scientists at Children's Hospital Los Angeles have developed a tissue-engineered model of lung and trachea which contains the diverse cell types present in the human respiratory tract.
They were surprised to find genetic fragments of a flu virus in bats. So far, scientists haven't been able to grow it, and it's not clear if — or how well — it spreads. Flu bugs are common in humans, birds and pigs and have even been seen in dogs, horses, seals and whales, among others. About five years ago, Russian virologists claimed finding flu in bats, but they never offered evidence.
A research team from Plymouth University Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentistry has received funding from the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council for research to better understand a cell defect that contributes to diseases such as cancer.
Nanalysis Scientific Corp., is pleased to announce that as of October 23rd , it has entered into a collaboration agreement with Robert Bosch GmbH to jointly develop products for the growing market industrial Nuclear Magnetic Resonance products for applications such as on-board fuel analyzers for cargo ships, driven by new international environmental standards against dirty fuels, which would be distributed by Bosch.
