When bedbound intensive care patients are moved within a hospital, the single most common risk factor is nonfunctioning technology and equipment. These transfers, a well-known moment of risk, have been studied in a University of Gothenburg thesis.
A quinic acid derivative, known as KZ-41, increases 30-day survival threefold compared with placebo when given to rats 24 hours after exposure to high levels of radiation.
As with any complex machine, sometimes a simple crossed wire or short circuit can cause problems with how it functions. The same goes for our brains, and even when the short circuit is uncovered, sometimes experts don't have a quick fix.
Aeterna Zentaris Inc. today announced that its Vice President, Alliance Management and Intellectual Property, Eckhard Guenther, Ph.D., will make a presentation on two of the Company's novel anticancer compounds, AEZS-108 and AEZS-129, at Bio Partnering North America on Monday, February 28, 2011, at 4 p.m. in the West Meeting Room 218, of the Vancouver Convention Center in Vancouver, Canada.
