Researchers have discovered that epileptic brains are more ordered than non-epileptic ones and also that certain flicking colours seem more likely to cause fits.
On Saturday, investigators presented positive safety and cognitive efficacy data for ANAVEX 2-73, the Company's lead investigational oral treatment for Alzheimer's disease targeting sigma-1 and muscarinic receptors, which are believed to reduce protein misfolding including reduction of beta amyloid, tau protein and inflammation at the international CTAD 2015 conference in Barcelona, Spain.
In this post in the "Health Affairs Blog," Matthew Kavanagh, director of U.S. policy and advocacy at Health Global Access Project (GAP), and Marguerite Thorp, a research assistant at Harvard Medical School, examine how HIV/AIDS treatment funding under PEPFAR has "fallen significantly since 2008 in both absolute dollars and as a portion of total budgets - just at a pivotal moment when investment could change the course of the epidemic."
Boston Scientific Corporation today announced enrollment of the first patient in its MultiSENSE clinical trial. The trial is designed to evaluate multiple physiologic sensors in the Company's COGNIS cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillators. Boston Scientific plans to use the trial data to help develop a clinical alert that identifies the early onset of worsening heart failure.
