Halozyme Therapeutics, Inc. today announced that the primary endpoint of non-inferiority of A1C levels at six months was met for the CONSISTENT 1 trial. The trial is evaluating Hylenex® recombinant and a new formulation of Hylenex currently under U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA) review, when used as pretreatment of the insulin infusion site in patients with type 1 diabetes receiving continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion (CSII) in comparison to no pre-treatment.
Infants whose mothers had a higher level of a particular type of vitamin B during pregnancy have a lower risk of eczema at age 12 months, new Southampton research has shown.
More can be done to properly manage the care of American children with food allergies, especially when it comes to diagnostic testing and recognizing non-visual symptoms of severe allergic reactions, according to a new Northwestern Medicine study.
For premature infants in the neonatal intensive care unit, skin-to-skin contact with parents influences levels of hormones related to mother-infant attachment (oxytocin) and stress (cortisol) - and may increase parents' level of engagement with their infants, reports a study in Advances in Neonatal Care, official journal of the National Association of Neonatal Nurses.
