PCI Biotech AS ( PCIB.OL) reported today that it has completed the successful treatment of the second dose group in the phase I/II study of its proprietary photosensitiser Amphinex® used in combination with the cytotoxic agent bleomycin in cancer patients.
Physicians - attendees of the 25th Annual EANM (European Association of Nuclear Medicine) Congress (October 27-31, Milan) - expressed their continuing interest in and recognition for Tektrotyd, a radiopharmaceutical responsible for significant progress in diagnostics/therapy of neuroendocrine tumours.
For the first time, stem cell researchers at the University of Minnesota have coaxed human embryonic stem cells to create cancer-killing cells in the laboratory, paving the way for future treatments for various types of cancers (or tumors).
Humans are diurnal animals, meaning that we usually sleep at night and are awake during the day, due at least in part to light or the lack thereof. Light is known to affect sleep indirectly by entraining-modifying the length of-our circadian rhythms and also rapidly and directly due to a phenomenon known as masking.
