Ellex Medical Lasers Limited, a pioneer in medical technologies for the diagnosis and treatment of eye disease, today announced that it has secured a CE Mark (Conformité Européenne) for its proprietary Retinal Rejuvenation Therapy (2RT) laser treatment of early Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD).
The discovery of the UM171 molecule, by Dr. Guy Sauvageau and Anne Marinier, made headlines in 2014 following an article in Science. Hailed by some as a revolution, even a miracle, in the field of blood stem cell transplantation, the UM171 molecule is delivering on its promise.
A blood test may be able to detect the most common form of pancreatic cancer while it is still in its early stages while also helping doctors accurately stage a patient's disease and guide them to the appropriate treatment.
A scientific breakthrough might assist in the fight against mosquitoes. New research carried out at the University of Haifa in collaboration with researchers from other universities has chemically identified, for the first time, compounds released by mosquitoes' natural aquatic predators that function as warning signals for egg laying mosquitoes.
