Oridion Systems Ltd. today announced that the Bavarian Red Cross has chosen Microcap(R) portable capnographs for its RTW (Rettungswagen) medical vehicles.
In this post in the Global Health Technologies Coalition's "Breakthroughs" blog, Heather Ignatius, senior policy manager for the TB Alliance, writes that while "the most recent WHO TB Control report noted that rates of tuberculosis (TB) declined this past year for the first time in decades, ... TB remains one of the most devastating global health crises today, with ripple effects that extend beyond health to cripple prosperity and development of regions overwhelmed by the disease."
Anti-microbial antibody formation has been reported in celiac disease. Relatively high positivity rates were observed for the conventional antibodies, for example, ASCA, anti-OmpW, and anti-I2, and they were known to decrease after a successful gluten free-diet. The importance of newly discovered inflammatory bowel disease-associated antibodies (including anti-glycan antibodies and anti-OMP) in celiac disease is not sure.
A typical cancer cell has thousands of mutations scattered throughout its genome and hundreds of mutated genes. However, only a handful of those genes, known as drivers, are responsible for cancerous traits such as uncontrolled growth. Cancer biologists have largely ignored the other mutations, believing they had little or no impact on cancer progression.
