The Washington Post: "President Obama extended Wednesday a wider range of benefits to the same-sex partners of eligible federal workers, including access to medical treatment, relocation assistance, credit unions and fitness centers. Allergan Inc. has received United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval to market the wrinkle smoother Botox as a treatment for urinary incontinence. The FDA approved the drug for people with overactive bladders who have neurologic conditions such as multiple sclerosis and spinal cord injuries, the agency said today in a statement. The medicine is injected into the bladder to increase its capacity by relaxing muscles.
House Republicans' irresponsible brinkmanship may finally lead to the government shutdown that some of its members have been coveting since they took control of that chamber in 2011. This time, though, the fight hasn't been a battle over spending on federal agencies. It's been a symbolic one over the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, a.k.a. Obamacare. And it's been a sham. The inconvenient truth for the GOP is that "defunding Obamacare," as the House tried to do, wouldn't stop most of the major provisions of the health care law, some of which have already gone into effect
Many people with back pain do not know what is causing it and they do not receive effective treatment, but learning to move in a more integrated way makes a big difference, reveals research from the Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
