An advanced form of image-guided radiation therapy, known as intensity modulated proton therapy, has shown early promise for the treatment of recurrent lung cancer, according to new research from The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Contrary to more conservative customs, exercising up to the end of pregnancy has no harmful effect on the weight or size of the foetus. This is what has been indicated in a study carried out by researchers of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Polytechnic University of Madrid), which also shows the positive relationship between the weight of sedentary mothers before pregnancy and the body size of their babies.
Overdoses of acetaminophen (also known as paracetamol) account for most drug overdoses in a number of countries, including the United States. Such overdoses damage the liver, causing acute liver failure, which can be fatal.
When creating technical equipment for a hectic hospital environment, to be handled by every imaginable end-user, one needs to cover a lot of aspects. The current models of Ascom's teleCARE Patient Handsets have already received the Red Dot Design Award for that very achievement - and now the coming versions follow in their footsteps.
