In a continuing effort to build a more sustainable business, OMNOVA Solutions today announced a price increase of up to $0.05/wet lb. ($0.10/dry lb.) on all styrene butadiene latex products to all served markets in the Americas.
The vision community is discussing with the Food and Drug Administration how vision-related patient-reported outcomes might be used in improving the labeling of ophthalmic treatments and products. The group — composed of researchers, clinicians, policymakers and representatives from industry and vision associations — attended a one-day symposium sponsored by the National Institutes of Health's National Eye Institute and the FDA on October 13, 2009.
A new study demonstrates the potential effectiveness of treating tumors by combining agents that damage DNA with a drug that sensitizes cancer cells to these agents.
Low-cost catfish fillets sold as expensive sole fillets or cod caught in the North Sea but declared as originating from the Baltic Sea are both examples of types of fraud in the fisheries sector. A European Commission report published today shows how molecular technologies - based on genetics, genomics, chemistry and forensics - can provide clear answers to questions such as "what species does this fish product come from….where was this fish caught….is it wild or farmed?".
Researchers in the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania have determined the role of a key growth factor, found in skin cells of limited quantities in humans, which helps hair follicles form and regenerate during the wound healing process.
