Eisai Inc., in coordination with the Alzheimer's Association, calls on individuals with Alzheimer's disease and their caregivers across America to nominate local pharmacists for the 2010 C.A.R.E. Pharmacy Award. This award recognizes the vital role that pharmacists play in helping the estimated 5.3 million Americans living with Alzheimer's disease and their almost 11 million caregivers.
A new study published online in the journal eBioMedicine on October 15, 2019, describes the use of an orally ingested agent called 5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA) to confirm the diagnosis of the aggressive brain tumor called glioma.
Considering the ever-expanding life span of Americans, quality and compliance in post-acute care services are becoming fundamental for post-acute care facilities, as well as patients who require assisted-living services or who are recovering from a major health condition. The facilities are increasingly adopting electronic health records and using mobile phones for e-prescribing, documentation and sharing of information with patients and family. In all this, it is imperative for them to keep their facility updated about the Feds newest compliance policies and traps.
Affecting around 2 % of the population, autoimmune rheumatic diseases can have severe symptoms, including painful and swollen joints, fever, rashes, fatigue and sensitivity to the sun, with patients needing regular check-ups.
