In Ontario, an astounding 1.7 million people have asthma, making it one of the most widespread chronic diseases. Nearly half of them don't have it under control and yet asthma is a disease that must be well managed because there is no cure.
After debate the Washington, D.C., city council has voted unanimously for use of marijuana for medical purposes in patients with "chronic and lasting disease" like HIV, glaucoma, cancer, severe pain, multiple sclerosis etc.
The risk of abusing drugs is greater - even for adopted children - if the family environment in which they are raised is dysfunctional, according to a new study conducted by a collaborative team from Virginia Commonwealth University and Lund University in Sweden.
Nearly three-quarters of Americans are confident in our system for reviewing the effectiveness and safety of new medicines and medical devices, yet 41% say it takes too long to approve a drug and allow it to be sold to consumers.
