A progressive and fatal neurodegenerative disorder, Alzheimer's has stolen the memories and livelihoods of millions-leaving patients and their families struggling to cope with the disease's devastating consequences. But today, scientists at the Gladstone Institutes propose a new research avenue that has the potential to change all that.
Doctors and researchers from across the Asia-Pacific gathered today for the opening of the International Osteoporosis Foundation's (IOF) 3rd Asia-Pacific Osteoporosis Meeting, taking place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre until December 16, 2012.
At a time when nearly 26 million Americans have diabetes and an estimated 79 million have pre-diabetes, JEWEL-OSCO, part of the nationwide SUPERVALU INC. family of grocery stores, is announcing its "Eating Healthy with my Diabetes" in-store tours for 2011.
The government of Equatorial Guinea has temporarily suspended the issuance of visas from neighboring countries and cancelled regionals flights by its national air carrier, Ceiba International, as measures to protect the country against the spread of the Ebola virus.
